Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspect hotel buildings and guest rooms in accordance to brand standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of hallways and common areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues to management and document in Amadeus.
  • Assist with cleaning of rooms or laundry as needed.
  • Examines carpets, drapes, and furniture for stains, damage, or wear.
  • Records inspection results and notifies appropriate housekeeping staff of inadequacies.
  • Performs written inspections on guest rooms, vending areas, and other housekeeping owned areas as designated by management.
  • Resolve inspection issues and perform light maintenance and cleaning tasks.
  • Needs to have an aptitude to promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that would create a positive outcome, in a hot or challenging work environment.
  • Follows directions and performs tasks with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Report lost items to Housekeeping office and record/follow up in Lost and Found log as directed.
  • Ensure proper furnishings and amenities are in all guest rooms/hotel buildings.
  • Maintain carts, linen rooms, and housekeeping equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Makes sure rooms are clean and ready to be occupied
  • Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Willingness to proactively assist the Housekeeping team by stripping/making beds, cleaning bathrooms, clearing halls, and being assigned rooms by a Team leader to assist in ensuring our guests are served in a timely manner.
  • Efficient and independent worker, self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to perform all duties of a Guest Room Attendant, including but not limited to: vacuuming, changing linens, sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.
  • Ability to assume a role of authority as necessary; act as a role model; observe work and provide constructive feedback to others

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Knowledgeable about proper housekeeping techniques, and handling of chemicals.

Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Outlook.

Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Familiar with inventory management, housekeeping practices, and standards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual.
  • Previous housekeeping and/or cleaning experience preferred
  • Must be extremely detail oriented to ensure perfection when inspecting guest rooms and public spaces.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Comfortable communicating via radio
  • Experience in hotel/resort hospitality preferred
  • Able to work a varying schedule to reflect business needs of the hotels

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the property
  • Must be able to work in smokey environments
  • Must be able to work in areas containing pet fur/dander
  • Must be able to work in areas containing dust
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
