Job Description:

The Promotions Associate executes and assists with coordination of all promotions, on-site events and entertainment, with the dual purpose of providing a positive impact on guest relationships and increasing profitability.

· Responsible for knowledge and execution of all Rules & Regulations for all events/promotions.

· Set-up and run the promotions, including emcee when needed.

· Responsible for set up of all required equipment for the event (e.g. tables, computer systems, prizes, etc.).

· Monitors activities that could affect the efficiencies and effectiveness of department, including internal controls, equipment maintenance.

· Maintains Event & Promotions calendar communication on a daily basis and updates and distributes these calendars and spreadsheets to ensure that the most resent event and promotion information needed to make sound business decisions is available.

· Perform clerical duties to assist department in coordinating events and promotions, (e.g. filing, shipping, receiving & storage).

· Performs inventories and tracks disbursement of prizes.

· Provides direction on overstock inventory and advises the Events Coordinator on moving product consistent with established inventory procedures (FIFO/LIFO, etc.).

· Responsible for the delivery of prizes and having the correct prizes ready for the promotion/event.

· Responsible for the accountancy of any cash or cash equivalent prizes, and all abiding by all appropriate cash handling procedures.

· Provides accurate processing of all applicable prize documentation (e.g. Form 1099 or W2-G, Bank Secrecy Act documentation)

· Coordinates interdepartmentally on promotions, events and entertainment as directed by the Events Coordinator or above.

· Maintains monthly expense worksheet for promotions & events.

· Maintains security and confidentiality of files, records and lists.

· Utilizes all on line computer systems to input & extract data for analysis, along with the ability to participate in the analysis of data.

· Assists with the conceptual design of various promotions/events including but not limited to: drawings, giveaways, distribution of literature, tickets, coupons, welcome gifts or related material to customers.

· Assists with details for entertainment bookings.

· Performs other duties as assigned to assist with intradepartmental Marketing functions (e.g. Direct Mail, Total Rewards, etc.).


· Ability to provide administrative support to the Events Coordinator and Promotions/Events/Entertainment Manager.

· Ability to work flexible hours, frequently including weekends and holidays.

· Must consistently deliver FOCUS skills to external and internal customers.

· Presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.

· Must be able to work at a fast pace while delivering the very best possible service.

· Creates an exciting fun & festive environment for customer promotions.

· Ability to work well with other departments to ensure the promotions are carried out successfully, heavy

follow-up is required.

· Must be able to maintain the integrity of promotions and events.

· Ability to work extremely flexible and widely varied hours.

· Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

· Must be able to make rational decisions, act quickly & solve problems in a timely manner.

· Excellent Customer Service skills required.

· Greets participants, interacts with them on the casino floor and provides prompt, courteous, friendly and efficient service in accordance with standard procedures.

· Helps develop good working relationships and maintains effective communication with other departments to secure and maintain their cooperation for assistance with events/promotions

Good organizational, communicative and written skills.

· Computer knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. LMS/CMS/EMS/APS knowledge preferred. Ability to work independently and solve problems when the need arises.

· High School Diploma or GED required; College Degree preferred, and 1 to 2 years casino marketing experience a must

Ability to add and subtract numbers is essential, as applicants will be tested. Must be able to count money and coin accurately. Cash-handling experience helpful. Pleasant personality, ability to deal with the public and maintain accurate records is a must. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Pleasant and easily understood speaking voice is required. Must be able to receive and accept direction and instruction in a positive and cooperative manner. Customer service and computer experience is preferred. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Must be willing and able to dress in themed attire when directed.
