Job Description:

Blackjack Dealers are assigned to tables in accordance with established policies and procedures for the gaming entertainment of Harrah’s guests. They provide a professional and courteous service to our guests and create an entertainment environment for all guests.


  • Upbeat personality for all interactions with guests and fellow employees.
  • Responsible for conducting themselves in a professional manner.
  • Proactive in anticipating customer needs.
  • Motivation in becoming familiar with all guests, remembering names and little facts.
  • Possesses money handling skills in providing chips for guests or dealers.
  • Knowledge of documentation required.
  • Possesses a thorough working knowledge of the various table games.
  • Basic knowledge of other games and services offered at this property.
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with customers by handling disputes and making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Exercises appropriate discretion in identifying situations that require management attention.
  • Knowledge and communication of special promotions to customers.
  • Coordinates with Casino Operations Supervisors and Security to detect and prevent attempts to cheat and to identify floor irregularities to a Table Games Supervisor/Manager, Casino Operations Supervisor or Casino Manager.
  • Acts as role model; always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
  • Provides prompt, courteous and accurate dealing at assigned game.
  • Maintains a continuous inspection of deck(s), ensuring the security of assigned game at all times.
  • Exchanges guest currency for gaming tokens and ensures the safety of all tokens and cash entrusted.
  • Assists guests in playing and ensures adherence to established rules, policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner.
  • Adheres to Harrah’s Ak-Chin uniform appearance standards.
  • Creates teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.


Qualifications:

At least 6 months blackjack dealing experience is required and/or successful completion of a dealer program at an accredited institution or through Harrah’s Ak-Chin dealing school. Pass an audition demonstrating adequate gaming propensity. Must possess strong money handling and documentation skills. Must meet Harrah’s dealing standards in regard to rules, game knowledge and dealing. Must have knowledge of casino rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to the Table Games. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team across departments and levels of management. Must present a well-groomed appearance. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Deliver excellent customer service. Is able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations. Is able to work in a "smoke-filled" environment. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Must possess mathematical abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.


Must have the mobility and dexterity to encompass tabletop to secure game. Must have manual dexterity in fingers and hands to deal cards and pick up currency, coin, gaming tokens, and cards. Must have the flexibility to move right to left and left to right. Must be able to sit and deal for long periods of time. Must have sense of urgency and keep up with fast-paced business practices. Must be able to work calmly and professionally in stressful situations. Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high-noise levels, bright lights and dust. Excellent vision (including peripheral) is needed for game security. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
